You are now able to have more insights in your syncing activity than ever before because of our brand new Health feature!
Health - which is currently still in beta - allows you to monitor the syncing status of all the contacts for the specific connection. You can find out exactly which contacts are syncing and which aren’t, including an error message to figure out why.

- Contacts in Sync
Here you will find all the contacts that PieSync is currently keeping in sync between your two apps. Contacts are kept in sync for as long as they match the rules in your configuration. Once they don't meet those rules anymore, they will transfer from this list to the List of Contacts excluded from the sync. Contacts that are kept in sync can be identified through the encircled green check mark.
- Contacts failing to sync
Unfortunately it sometimes happens that a contacts doesn't want to be synced. This can have a couple of reason: For example, it's common practice for an app to have certain required fields when creating new contacts. In most cases requirements are fields like 'first name' or 'email address'. When PieSync is trying to sync contacts to app B and in app A a contact lacks values in a required field, they will be refused by App B. In these cases, they will be listed in List of Contacts failing to sync. In this list you'll find all contacts that were refused and also the reason why, it may not always be because of app requirements. It could also be because of other issues, Health should always provide you with a failure reason. Contacts that are failing to sync can be recognised by the encircled red X.
- Contacts excluded from the sync
When a contact is excluded from the sync, it means that it doesn't match the connection rules and is as such being ignored by PieSync. If you find a contact in this list and you expected it to sync, you will either have to change the rules or change some settings. Possibly a filter is too restrictive or if the contact does not have an email address, it could be related to the Avoid Duplicates setting. This setting will prevent any contact that does not have an email address to be ignored. Excluded contacts can be identified through the grey ban sign.
- Duplicate Contacts
Just like the excluded contacts, this list is also made up of contacts that are being ignored or excluded by PieSync. PieSync has a built-in duplicate prevention system that identifies duplicate contacts through the email address. If PieSync finds two contacts with the same email address in the same app, it will consider the second one it encounters a duplicate. As such it's advised to clean up your duplicates before you activate the sync. Duplicate contacts can be recognised by the grey encircled 2 sign.
- Summary of Performed Actions
This table gives you an overview of the amount creations and updates PieSync has performed in the last seven days. When you just set-up your sync it will be shown as 'today' instead, just like on the screenshot. The summary is segmented per app and by clicking on it you will get a list of the specific contact that were created or updated.
- Summary of Failure Reasons
This table will provide you with a list of all the sync failure reasons PieSync has encountered. The most common failure reasons will be on the top and by clicking each failure reason, you will be provided with a list of all the affected contacts.
- Search Bar
The search bar allows you to type in and look for the sync status of each contact in your apps. It will search on name, email address or your app's contact ID. The result will be a list of all contacts that meet the search parameters. On the right hand side you'll find whether the contact is syncing, failing, excluded or a duplicate.
- Activity Timeline
The Activity Timeline gives you a brief chronological overview of the latest contacts PieSync has processed. It will show not only the contacts that it has kept in sync, but also those that it hasn't. The encircled symbols refer directly to the four lists on top: 1) In Sync, 2) Failing to sync, 3) Excluded and 4) Duplicates. On the top you'll find the most recent ones.

You can access Health directly through your Activity feed for every connection by clicking on the button 'Check the Beta now!'
